Jody Calendar has consulted on four continents, is a motivational speaker, was named one of New Jersey's 50 most interesting people. Jody was named Woman of the Year by the State Advisory Council on Women, Role Model by the National Organization of Women, and honored as a Distinguished Alumna.
Jody's range spans from multi-million dollar businesses such as Inova Health Systems, Baptist Health, the US State Department, the National Park Service, to the NJ Small Business Development Centers/Rutgers University helping small businesses recover from Super Storm Sandy.
Having run two major newsrooms she learned new models to adapt to a transitioning industry and has insights about what all businesses need to address in a declining economy and changing clientele.
She has overseen multi-million dollar budgets, written corporate business plans and restructured divisions of major corporations. Jody has edited, written and supervised nationally award winning projects, and is a former director of the Associated Press Managing Editors. She judges hundreds of prestigious contests and works closely with Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. She has also trained for most major newspaper chains.
During her travels around the globe as a trainer and fellow for the U.S. State Department, Jody has learned the value of multi-culturism and has learned life lessons not only the natives of 48 countries, but animals as well, ranging from penguins in the Galapagos Islands, man eating snakes and vampire monkeys in the jungles of Malaysia and Western Samoa , intuitive horses and dogs in her backyard, as well as whales and dolphins in Alaska, New England and Hawaii.
But Jessica, an Orangutan in the Rehabilitation Center in Tanjung Putting National Park in Borneo, taught her the greatest lessons of all. Trust, take the path less traveled, learn to take risks and never underestimate the instincts and intelligence of everything around you.
